Aversa Plum Mosaic Gloss Wall Tiles 300x300mm
This tile is made of glass, meaning beautiful and intricate patterns are more possible than with any other material. This allows you to personalise your room - please see our other mosaic tiles for more colours. Like porcelain, they are easy to clean and do not absorb water. Do not be fooled by the word 'glass' - these tiles are much more durable than they sound and have passed the required industry standards!
The Gloss finish on this tile gives a shinier look compared to others finishes. This makes it more reflective which is ideal if you like a lot of light in the room, and an open airy feel. Gloss tiles are perfect for smaller rooms since they help bounce the light around, and also work well around fireplaces or in kitchens since they are so easy to clean. If you live in a busy home and have little time to clean, this makes the tiles even more appealing. It should be noted that these tiles are slippery, so good for bathroom walls due to the condensation
Plum is passionate, understated and romantic. It can bring a calming effect to any room and can please any eye. Unlike the red variety, plum tiles have a more sophisticated feel to them, and look exquisite in dark rooms lit by candlelight.

Prepare the Surface Area
Any cracks or damaged areas should be repaired and the surface should be level. If a primer has been purchased then the primer should be applied and left to dry. Plan the Layout of the Tiles
Mark the centre of the surface area using snap chalk and plan where each tile will lay. This can be completed by dry laying each tile or simply marking where each tile will be installed. This will allow the edge pieces to be measured and cut accordingly.
It is important to read manufacturer’s instructions if the adhesive requires mixing. The adhesive should be applied with a trowel and only 1 meter squared should be applied at a time. A ¼” coat is usually recommended; however, this may vary depending on the tile. Use the notched side of the trowel at a 45-degree angle to remove any excess adhesive.
Lay the Tiles
If you are laying floor tiles then start in the centre of the room, or if you’re laying wall tiles then start in a corner and work your way across. Place spacers in between tiles to ensure an even joint gap is created. Gently tap all tiles into place and wipe away any excess adhesive from the surface of the tiles using a damp sponge. Always check the lines are even using a spirit level. Leave to dry for 24 hours.
Use a grout flout to push the grout into the joints at a 45-degree angle using diagonal swipes. Ensure any excess grout is removed from the surface of the tiles to avoid damaging the final appearance. The grout should take around 20 minutes to cure. Once the grout has cured, wipe down all tiles with a damp cloth. Once the tiles have been left for 72 hours then you are able to apply a coat of sealant over the tiles or grout.Always read the manufacturer’s instructions on packaging as aspects of the installation method may change due to variation of products.
